This day is also a tour of the most beautiful villages in the Marche region. From Materica, where we stayed the night before, we headed further south. First of all, we visited the villages on the mountain side. One of them is Sarnano this time. Like Materica, the history of this village seems to go back to Roman times. In the morning, it was sunny in Materica, but when we arrived at Sarnano, it was cloudy. We headed from the north side of the village, but just before arriving at the village, we could see the whole village.
My first impression is that it is a standard beautiful village. Arrived at the village, the village is located on a small hill. On the lower side of the hill, there are many shops and restaurants, and there is a public parking lot. We parked the car here and went to the center of the village.
Near the parking lot and the shopping street along the main road, there were a lot of people and it was lively (it seemed like a resort), but when I crossed the road to the hill and went toward the old town, it was very quiet.
There was a museum in the village, but it seemed to be closed on this day.
At the top of the hill is a square with the church of Santa Maria. But we couldn’t go inside the church because it was under renovation.
There were several churches in this village, but we could not enter any of them. It was a sightseeing tour of just walking slowly around the village as usual, but I can say that it was a visit to a beautiful village in a way.
