The most beautiful villages of France

We visited 43 of France’s most beautiful villages on this trip, the second largest number we’ve ever visited in one trip.

However, the average distance traveled per day may have been the longest ever.

Two years ago, when we visited 60 places, we were touring in an area where there was a high concentration of beautiful villages, but this time, we were touring villages that we had missed before, so our destinations were distributed all over France, which made our trip very inefficient.

In that sense, I think it was more challenging than the visit two years ago.

However, I was able to visit all the villages without getting lost thanks to the Google Map Navigation System.

I’ve used Google Maps in France many times before, but since the iOS version with voice was introduced in December 2012, this was the first time I used it to tour the most beautiful villages in France.

Sure, the risk of getting lost was significantly reduced without audio, but this time the audio guide is even more effective!

The timing of the voice instructions is appropriate and the map that switches while driving is easy to read.

Even if you don’t have the app running all the time, it will tell you where to turn with a voice like this.

And the best part is that this Google Map navigator will do that with your voice even when you’re offline.

This was very helpful.

The most beautiful villages in France are often located in the mountains, away from the cities, so there are times when my mobile phone signal is out of range, but thanks to this offline audio guide, I was able to reach my destination without having to look at the map often.

Apparently, when you do a route search, the data of the global map of the route to the destination is left in the device, so the image becomes rough, but you can see the road map of the current location even when you are offline. Furthermore, I can’t understand detailed road conditions, but it covers them with voice, so I can drive without really getting lost.

We visited some of the villages that we almost gave up on in the last minute rush on this trip, and I think it was really thanks to this Google Map navigation system that we were able to do that.

これからもヨーロッパドライブで活用していきたいと思います。
