Saint-Robert is in the Limousin region, but just to the south is the Dordogne and the Midi-Pyrenees region.
It was a bit of a distance from Aubeterre-sur-Dronne. We took the highway to near Périgueux and it took less than an hour from there.
It’s already past 5pm and it’s evening. There were a few tourists, but as expected in the evening will be fewer. So I was able to park in the central square of the village.
In front of us was the village hall, and there were still a few tourists.

At the heart of the village is the 12th-century church of Sainte-Marie.
Inside is an area dedicated to Saint Robert, who is said to have opened a monastery in the area, which is also the name of the town.
Just opposite and in front of it was a memorial to an example of the First World War.
The altar was also very old and historic, which is unique to a beautiful village church.
Afterwards, we took about 20 minutes to slowly explore this beautiful village.
The color of the stone is still a light brown, just like the villages found in the Dordogne. This color is one of my favorite colors.
There was also a simple, small but very nice chapel.
We circled around the village and came back to the central square where the village hall is located.
This is the end of our tour of beautiful villages. We visited 4 beautiful villages in total.
The search for accommodation was done after this. We decided to stay at an auberge less than 30 minutes from this village.
