L’Ocronant – A small French restaurant in Jiyugaoka

I hadn’t had French food since maybe a trip.

I suddenly wanted to eat it, so I checked around Jiyugaoka that day and found this restaurant.

LOCRONAN(ロクロナン)| 自由が丘 フレンチレストラン

This shop is located in a quiet residential area a little far from the Jiyugaoka station.

It was a small restaurant like a house, there were three tables and a counter seat in the back, but it could only seat a few people. I wondered how I could make a reservation on the day.

I immediately decided to stay here because of the name.

Lochronan is a beautiful village in Brittany. It’s been chosen as one of the most beautiful villages in France, and it’s one of the most beautiful parts of the country.

I also visited in 2011.

A brief introduction of the dishes we had.

「キッシュ・ロレーヌ」

Quiche, which is familiar in Japan, is a traditional dish of Lorraine. I just went to Metz, the center of Lorraine, in May this year.

「砂肝のコンフィ」

This is a specialty of Languedoc-Roussillon region. I think I had it almost every day in the first half of my trip in May. The texture and taste are very soft and elegant.

「ジャンボンペルシエ」

This appetizer recommended by the restaurant is pork thigh ham with parsley jelly, here served with foie gras and other ingredients. We were impressed by the cool but rich taste like summer.

「ピカルディのフィセル」

Picardy is located on the north side of Paris, and this restaurant seems to have many French local dishes, but it didn’t seem to have many Brittany dishes. So we ordered a dish from Picardy region.

We shared the main course, and the waiter told us, « Because our restaurant is very large, many people share two appetizers and one main course. So I went ahead and ordered one of the main dishes.

「ブフ・ブルギニョン」

It’s safe to say this dish is the main course within a main course! Melt-in-your-mouth tender beef hoisin with a very rich red wine sauce.

But it’s still a huge volume, so I think it’s pretty tough to eat it by yourself.

It’s not every day you get to eat such a delicious bouffe bourguignon. So glad I asked!

As for the drinks, we had beer and then ordered a bottle of red wine.

The main dish is Bourguignon, so the wine is also Bourgogne, isn’t it?

「マルサネ クロ ドュ ロワ」

It was very delicious. But it cost 5,000 yen. I think we could have made a good choice.

However, because it was too much volume, unfortunately, I gave up dessert crying.
