Saint-Lizier, another beautiful village in the province of Ariège, like Camon, is also famous for its location on the pilgrimage route of Santiago de Compostela, which dates back to the Middle Ages.
It took us a little more than two hours drive to reach this village from Camon via Foix, which is also the capital of the Ariège department.
There was a parking lot moderately at the entrance of the village, so I parked there and started sightseeing. It’s getting a little cloudy…
Tourists are a little bit of feeling. But I did not see people like pilgrims.
The information about the pilgrimage route is also in this way.
This church has an air of history, but unfortunately there was no sign that we could go inside.
It’s a bit of a shame because I checked later and it looks like there was a nice cloister.
The village itself was very quiet and had the appearance of a typical beautiful village.
Also, perhaps because it was a pilgrimage route, I saw signs like this one in various parts of the city that said, « Here’s your hotel room.
We left the city at 5pm because we were going to see a concert at 8pm in Toulouse where we were staying. (It takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes to Toulouse)
But as I was driving down the road on my way home, I found a really cool place to shoot!
I had to take a picture of this, so I stopped the car again and took a picture.
Satisfied with this, I turned back to the same road again because the road was one-way, and found a better point than the one I had just photographed!
I couldn’t make it in time, so I gave up that day, but I went back the next day to take pictures.
And this time it was clear!
The mountains of Pyrene^, which were not clearly visible the day before, are also clearly visible!
We ended up taking the same road three times, but it was a very satisfying visit with some great photos.
