Date and Time of Visit: September 18, 2018, approximately 9:00 a.m.
The series of beautiful villages by the lakes of Neuchâtel and Biel continues. « Le Landron » is a neighboring town of La Neuveville introduced in No.11. If you look up this name directly on Google Maps, you will find it facing the lake, but the parcel designated as a beautiful village is located a little far from the lake.
The village is a typical bastide type and was built in the 14th century. The official website states that it was created by a man named Rodolphe IV, who was based in Neuchâtel.
The town hall, Hotel de Ville, is at the northern entrance to the village and we were able to park for free in the square in front of it. We arrived at 9:00 in the morning, a little too early for sightseeing. The day before, we stayed in the town of Neuchâtel, and indeed, Le Landron is very close to there. Still, this village was the second village of the day. That’s how many beautiful villages are concentrated in this area. (I also visited some of the villages already mentioned on September 18).
Probably in the afternoon, restaurants and souvenir shops will be open. There also seemed to be accommodation facilities.
However, I went around this bastide and the view of the village from the south side was also very quaint.
It’s not fancy, but I thought it had the same atmosphere as the many beautiful villages I’ve visited.
