Date and time of visit: July 16, 2017, approximately 11 a.m.
July 16, the second beautiful village is called Fagnolle, about 30 minutes away from Rompre.
The best place to park would be in the square just inside the village. We were able to park there easily.
After visiting all the villages, I felt that this village was the most standard of the most beautiful villages in Walloon. As for the history of the village, it seems to be the same for all the villages in Walloon, but first of all, the church of Saint-Martin in the village is from the 16th century. The second renovation was done in 2010.
And the houses in the village were mainly built in the 18th and 19th century. So, we are looking at the scenery of the village about 200 years ago, I guess. The roads in the village are wide and paved with asphalt (concrete?). But I thought that each house was very beautiful.
Now, the back of this village is a back hill with a small forest. It was a very pleasant place. We only climbed up to the top a little bit, but the view of the village from there was very beautiful.
By the way, there seemed to be a ruined chateau a little far away. I noticed it when I arrived there, but I didn’t visit it for some reason. I might have thought it was okay because it was abandoned. I don’t remember.
