Date and Time of Visit: April 29, 2016 at approximately 5:00 p.m.
A beautiful reddish-brown village born after the Reconquista.
The tour of beautiful villages in Segovia province continues
There is a lot to see on this day. One World Heritage Site, four beautiful villages and Ayllón, the third beautiful village of the day. Ayllón is the third beautiful village of the day and it is less than 50 minutes away from the village we visited just before. None of the places we visited were far from each other and it was very easy to get around.
There was a good amount of parking and space at the entrance to the village. It was also very easy to find.
There is a stream in front of the village. It is very tasteful. The parking lot was located along this stream.
Reddish-brown old town
The first thing that strikes you is the wall that surrounds the village. The reddish brown stone structure is very beautiful.
If you go through the wall and walk through the alley, you will reach the central square. It is the scenery which makes you feel the Bastide style in France.
There is a church in front, and restaurants, hotels, and shops are lined up around the square. There were a few tourists here and there, and local children were playing soccer happily. By the way, I have no idea how many tourists come to this village, but at this off-season time (the end of April), even if I could stay in this village, I was very worried about whether the restaurant was open at night…. In fact, there was a village where the restaurant was not open….
さて、公式サイトによれば、この村はどうやらレコンキスタ後に出来た村のようです。この日訪れた村は、その前進はウマイヤ朝時代からでしたので、それらとは少し違っていたようです。
Of course, there were several churches and cathedral-like facilities, but again, without exception, we could not see the inside. We could only see from the outside.
It’s a very small village, so it won’t take you more than an hour to walk around taking pictures slowly.
Dusk is late in Spain and we still have plenty of time. There is another beautiful village about 30 minutes away from here, so we’ll do one more tour of beautiful villages before heading to the inn for today. (Continue)
