This is the last installment of our tour of Switzerland’s most beautiful villages, which we visited in September 2017.As of September 2017, 27 places had been registered, and at this point we had achieved full conquest.
Even though it was the last time I visited, it was the second day of my visit. Trogen is located in the suburbs of St. Gallen near Lake Constance in northeastern Switzerland, which is also a World Heritage Site. It is located on a hill on the south side of St. Gallen. I was a little nostalgic because I had visited St. Gallen with sightseeing in Liechtenstein two years before this.
Even though it is on a hill, it is quite high, and it would be more appropriate to say that it is a long slope. It takes more time to get to the village than I thought, even though it is not so far from St. Gallen. However, there are many houses along the way, and many people seem to be living there. It may be because it is a suburb of a big city St.Gallen. The train was running along the slope to Trogen because there was such a lot of houses. It looks like a mountaineering train, but the surroundings are not the mountains of the Alps at all, but a residential area.

Even though it is a long slope, it takes about 10 minutes by car at most. Arrived at the village. It was hard to find a parking lot. There is none in a conspicuous place. I was able to park in a row in a narrow place somehow wandering the back alleys. It is the history of the village, but it seems that this village itself was formed from the 17th century though there are many old towns of the history such as St. Gallen around here. It seems that the history is not so old. It seems to have been a forest in the past. It is a stroll in the village, but the impression that there was no remarkable thing in some quaint houses and buildings.
The only thing that remains in my mind is the terminal station of the railway that I saw when I came here earlier.
The weather was not good, so we were not very excited, so we kind of let it go. This is also a common thing, a tour of a beautiful village, not only that, but also a tour of a town in the European countryside is like this. However, if you do this kind of sightseeing repeatedly, sometimes you can find a very beautiful and impressive sight, if only once in ten times.
