Another shuttle bus arranged just in case #MedocMarathon2014

One of the biggest challenges in arranging the Medoc Marathon privately is securing transportation on the day of the event, but we decided to also secure a shuttle bus from another company just in case.

Another reason to add another company 2: The departure location information is too sketchy.

And the departure location on the morning of the day is also too sketchy.

This is the only information about the departure place… What, only the name of the street? Indeed, there was a « rue Ferrére » in the center of Bordeaux.

It’s a small street, and I’m sure there will be contestants in costume wandering around the area early in the morning, so it might be easy to find them there, but I’m still worried.

By the way, the TransGironde bus, which I asked to add this time, has a specific location on Google Maps.

Another reason to add another company 3: Ticket receipt information is too sketchy.

1. 「Tuttiquanti desk」というところがある。
2. 「Tuttiquanti desk」というところは、スタートナンバーを受け取るところである。
3. スタートナンバーを受け取るのは、9月12日（前日）である。
4. そこで「shuttle-bracelet」（ブレスレット型の乗車券のようなものか？）を受け取る。

という内容。まあ冷静に文章を解釈・翻訳すると、「12日にゼッケンを受け取るTuttiquanti desk」というところで、同時にshuttle-braceletを受け取るということになるのだが、「Tuttiquanti deskがPauillacにあるか」とはこのメール内では書いていないんです。

「スタートナンバーはポーイヤックで受け取る」ことができるのは、これまでのメールで確実にわかっていることです。確かにそれから推測すれば、明らかにTuttiquanti deskがポーイヤックにあることは自明なはず。

なのですが、明示されていないのでやっぱり不安。こういう重複を避ける合理性は、いかにも欧米人という感じです。

Another reason to add another company 4: Consider the risk of missing a ride

One more thing is this. Anyway, there are few means and Pauillac is far from Bordeaux, so if you miss the train, you can’t start over.

But there’s also a minor but significant problem with this.

But considering that you have to find the bus stop on the morning of the day…

「6:15までに大会側のバスが発見できなかったら、TransGironde busに乗ってさっさとポーイヤックに向かってしまいたい。」

I would think that the TransGironde bus is more likely to be found almost certainly from prior information.

TransGironde busの出発地点と大会側のbusの出発地点が近いようでそうでもない微妙な距離なのも、アタマを悩ます原因となっています。

If you think about it like this, you may think that arranging another bus = TransGironde bus is not a hedge against the risk of missing the bus at all, but on the other hand, it is very safe to return.

帰り：大会側のbusの出発時間 17:00 < TransGironde busの出発時間 17:30

This is the opposite of going, the bus on the convention side leaves earlier. So as soon as you find it, you can just get on it. Even if you miss it, there is another bus.

Furthermore, the bus parking is clearly designated in Pauillac, so it should not be too difficult to find your bus after the event.

So I think we are definitely hedging our risk, at least for the return trip.

I’m a bit overly concerned about this, but I think it’s the only thing I can do in the advance preparation stage about the means of transportation on the day, which can make things difficult until the last minute.
