I used to have a banner ad widget in the sidebar, but it was discontinued due to ineffectiveness and design changes. Now, I only occasionally introduce products that I have purchased in my posts.
Even so, it is small, but the number of accesses has increased since around this year, along with a small amount of affiliate income began to come in.
Since it’s a good opportunity, I’d like to focus on Amazon Associates as part of my year in review.

With 10,000 to 15,000 pageviews per month, no sidebar widgets, no ad insertions at any time, not every time, and such a policy, I got this result.
There were waves depending on the time of year, but the result is that the income of about 1,500 yen per month. It is a form that is rather close to being left alone, but even so, if you put up a link for the time being, you can get income.

What I have gained through affiliate marketing
Of course, the money was great, but the biggest thing was the experience, especially the understanding of online business.

I think I’ve gotten a rough feel for what it’s like. Having experienced it for myself, I believe that prominent bloggers have gained some sense of the amount of money that online companies are making through their sites.
For example, I can predict sales based on the number of Google RSS subscribers and the number of ads in the page layout. I can now think in terms of my own site’s sales, page views and RSS subscribers.
So this was also a very good learning experience for me.
About the future
As I mentioned in my previous post, increasing page views is only a secondary goal, not the main objective. Therefore, the same goes for affiliates. I’d like to stick to the policy of using it casually when I introduce something I’m interested in from time to time or something I’ve actually purchased.
In the first place, a website full of advertisements is not very beautiful in terms of design.
However, even if I say that, I still feel like I want to increase sales a little more. Yes, it’s related to increasing page views, but I’d like to triple my monthly sales and income.
