2010 Year in Review 2nd Half

引き続き2010年総括です。

【7月】

In July, the practice of the grain orchestra was in full swing. Several ensembles and string quartets were held. As a member of the secretariat, I started to collect the fee for the concert in earnest. I felt everyone’s enthusiasm. I can’t help but look forward to what kind of performance it will be. On the other hand, I was filled with anxiety about whether I would be able to play the top role safely.

【8月】

August is also a month full of events. After all, the biggest event is the performance of the grain orchestra. The concert on « August 9, 2010 », which I had jokingly mumbled about, has really come true!

But one more big event. It’s a « trip to Germany », this time with my parents, but the departure date is August 10! We left the launch at 2 o’clock in the night, stayed at a hotel near the concert venue in Ichikawa, got up at 5 o’clock, went to Narita, and took a 9:30 flight to Frankfurt.

After arriving in Frankfurt, we rented a car and drove to Eisenach, 200km away, by Autobahn. It was a very hard day. I haven’t finished my Germany travelogue yet….

Little Jack’s concert will be held in November this year instead of August.

【9月】

The summer’s big events are over, and there are no big events either, but practice for Little Jack’s concert is in full swing for November.

On the other hand, I’m going abroad again next month. This time I’m going to St. Petersburg, Russia. Since Russia requires a tourist visa, I got a visa for the first time through a travel agency. I’m a little anxious, but I’m looking forward to it.

We also had a launch party for the show in August. We reunited with the members for the first time in about a month.

【10月】

October opens with a trip to Russia. It was my first trip to St. Petersburg, which I thought was European and surprisingly safe. But on the second day, I was careless and got the lens of my SLR camera. Of course it was painful, but on the other hand, I was interested in how they could take it off in such a way.

Also, tickets for Little Jack’s regular concert coming up next month are on sale. From this time, we introduced the « pre-order system ». Thanks to your support, we received many applications. On the other hand, the tickets became premium and some of them were sold at a high price on the internet auction. This is an issue for the future.

And the biggest thing that happened this month was that I won the Tokyo Marathon for the second time!

The application rate gets abnormally high every year, and I never thought I’d get through the lottery again. I realized again how strong my bad luck is.

[Nov.

I performed in the 7th regular concert of the Little Jack Orchestra to which I belong. I was very happy to be able to play my long-cherished wish, Chrono Trigger. As usual, I was made to cry on the stage in the concert here.

Another event that symbolizes this year, the Grain Valley Ward Orchestra’s second event, « Grain An, » is now in full swing, and the group I belong to has started practicing. I’m looking forward to seeing what kind of concert it will be.

Also, my preparation for the Tokyo Marathon is in full swing. After all, I’ve run the Tokyo Marathon once before, so my preparation is much faster than before. It’s hard to run when it gets cold, so this is the best time to run.

[Dec.

One month left in the blink of an eye in 2010, and the beginning of December came with a Mac. I don’t know if it’s too late to say this, but I’ve finally become a Mac user, and my life is becoming more and more invaded by Apple.

And don’t forget the « grainy ». I participated in this event with a light heart because I felt that I had done a lot of work in this event, but when I actually participated, I found that music was interesting. And the feeling of being able to tweet and share the music I love is irresistible.

Meeting such a wonderful group of people was the biggest harvest of the year. A memory I will never forget.

And the end of the year. I think I’m going to start the new year by writing a lot of travel journals.

This year has been more fulfilling than any other year. I just feel like I did too many things (laughs) and spent a lot of money…

But I hope next year will be another bright, cheerful, happy one.
