Date of visit: May 3, 2012, around 2:00 p.m.
The schedule of GW in 2012 was France in the first half and Spain in the second half. In the first half of France, we mainly visited the beautiful villages in France, but we also visited the world heritage sites from time to time.
We arrived in Paris at 4:00 a.m. and rented a car. After visiting the first beautiful village, we stopped at the Cathedral of Saint-Etienne in Bourges.
We parked in a beautiful public parking lot and started sightseeing right away. The main thing is only the cathedral, but the city is also beautiful.
By the way, in the front is the tourist information center of the town. It’s kind of stylish.
It was cloudy and rainy when we arrived in Paris, but by the afternoon the weather had improved and it was clear as day!
This is the square in front of the cathedral.

This cathedral is not inferior to the cathedrals of Reims, Chartres and Notre-Dame de Paris.
It is indeed powerful and vigorous.
By the way, I’ve already been to « Reims Cathedral, Chartres Cathedral and Notre Dame de Paris », haven’t I? Well, all of them are world heritage sites, aren’t they?
A shot from the garden next to the cathedral. A little bit of renovation work is going on. Well, I can say this is a familiar scene in Europe. I don’t think anything about it now.
Of course we went inside.
Maybe it was because of the good weather, but I had the impression that it was very bright.
Actually, I wanted to visit this cathedral last year, but I couldn’t because of time constraint. So I thought I’d make it this year, and finally my wish came true.
There are many cathedrals in Europe, but they are still a symbol of European culture, and you want to visit them as often as you can.
もちろん今回も訪れて本当に良かったと思いました。
