Date of visit: April 29, 2011, around 1:00 p.m.
From Sixt-Fer-à-Cheval, a village at the foot of the Swiss Alps, we crossed the mountain to the shore of Lake Geneva.
This is a beautiful village called « Yvoire », also in the Haute-Savoie department. By this time, the weather had improved and I was feeling great! This is also a village that we had not planned to visit originally.
It’s easy to get to, the hotels and restaurants are good, and of course the village is beautiful and worth seeing. The location is easy to get to, the hotels and restaurants are excellent, and of course the village is beautiful and spectacular.
What makes it so highly rated for its ease of access is that it is very close to Geneva.
Of course I have a car, so I can get there, but I think you can probably get there by public transportation. By the way, it’s also close to Evian, which is famous for its water.
The village has a lot of medieval atmosphere, and it is facing the lake, so it is very beautiful. Very fun to walk around!
And it’s a great location by Lake Geneva. Switzerland on the other side of the lake is already in front of us. The lake is nice!
I also highly appreciate the fact that it is a well-organized tourist destination. I think that souvenir shops, hotels, and this area are also well equipped.
There are many restaurants. Many of them are combined with hotels. There was a very nice restaurant at the entrance of the village. It was just lunch time and we took care of it.
A well-priced course. I tried the fish.
There are no stars, but the food at Michelin Guide recommended and Michelin recommended hotels is really good.
I asked for the water « Evian », which was promised or nearby (laughs)
Yvoire is a perfect and fulfilling place for sightseeing. If you have a chance, please visit it by all means.
Now it’s time to return to the Franche-Comté region via Switzerland.
