Beautiful Villages from the Heights May 2014 Italy’s Most Beautiful Villages Field Report No.10

201405 Italy

Local time: May 2, 2014

This day is focused on a tour of the beautiful villages of central Sicily. There are three beautiful villages in central Sicily, each of which can be reached in about 20 minutes, so it is very nice to be able to visit them efficiently.

Sperlinga has an old castle built on a rocky hill.

Gangi large in size for a beautiful village, was the cleanest of the three.

Geraci Siculo is a medium sized quiet village. There were no tourists at all.

Then to the north coast of Sicily. Cefalu is listed in the guidebook. It is also chosen as a beautiful village. We will stay here today.

The view from the ruins of the Temple of Diana, overlooking the village, is fantastic.

However, if you look down at the precipice, you might fall at any moment, so be careful if you are afraid of heights.

Here is a very big church that we could see from the Deanna Temple.

A very beautiful church with mosaics from the Byzantine era inside. I was so moved by its beauty.

The hotel was arranged in a place by the sea, a little far from the old town. Dinner was at a restaurant near the hotel.

Of course, this day is also white wine from Sicily. It’s white wine everyday.

We had the appetizer pasta, and for the main course we had the aqua pazza using the fish of the day, which was not on the menu.

Aquapazza, it’s delicious. If you want to have it as a main course, this might be the best.

By the way, I was mentally depressed because I scraped my car again in the parking lot of the hotel in the morning and in the evening respectively, but I was saved by the wonderful view of Chephal and delicious food.

It seems to be a problem of the setting of the side mirror. I don’t know why I didn’t notice such a rudimentary thing until now. I regret it.

I wonder what the weather will be like the next day…
