Date of visit: May 7, 2013, 10:00 a.m.
This is the story of the day I heard a concert in Toulouse. The concert was in the evening, so during the day we drove to the suburbs and visited beautiful villages.
この日はミディ・ピレネー地方の一番南にある「アリエージュ県(Ariège)」にある美しい村巡りをしました。
You can see the Pyrenees Mountains in front of you.
さて、この日の最初の美しい村「Camon(カモン)」に向かう途中で立ち寄ったのが、今回ご紹介する「ミルポワ(Mirepoix)」という街です。
We only knew it on the map as a landmark town on the way to Camon, but it looked so beautiful when we passed through that we decided to park the car and explore a bit.
It is a bastide style town often seen in the Midi-Pyrenees and Aquitaine, but the walls of the houses are in pastel colors and the atmosphere is very pretty.
There will be a good selection of hotels, restaurants and souvenir shops. It is enough to do sightseeing.
The province of Ariège is home to the Catharists. The last stronghold of the Catharists was also located here. I don’t know if the influence of Catharism is still there. I don’t know if the influence of Catharism still remains, but the religious facilities in this area have a different atmosphere from Catholicism.
Church in town, not so much on the outside.
I don’t think I’ve seen many of these gargoyle-like things in Catholicism. I’m not so sure.
The Midi-Pyrenees, including the province of Ariège, is full of fascinating places that you may have missed.
