Kamakura run 26km, training for Kyoto Marathon #Kyoto Marathon

Miraculously, I have nothing to do on Saturday even though the race starts tomorrow. I don’t have any plans on Saturday, and the Kyoto Marathon is just two weeks away.

So, not to miss this timing, I went to the long run practice which was probably the last one before. And the weather was perfect!

Before that, I bought a new pair of running shoes that I’ve been meaning to replace.

They are light, absorbent and easy to run in. I’m looking forward to it.

I immediately put them on, took the train to Kamakura, left my coat and other valuables in a locker in front of the station, and started running from the west exit of Kamakura Station.

Here is the course this time.

Start from Kamakura station, once head to Fujisawa station to Fujisawa bridge.

From there, we follow Route 1 toward Chigasaki. This is the so-called Hakone Ekiden course, the 3rd section.

When you hit Route 134, you’ll be heading toward Enoshima instead of Chigasaki. The confluence of the two is the Hamasuka pedestrian bridge.

Surprisingly, it felt like a long way to this point, but it was about the 13km mark.

Then we went for a run along Route 134. Felt as good as you’d expect here!

However, it’s still 12km to Kamakura, the goal, and it’s a long way…

After that, we went to Tsujido and Kugenuma. You can see Enoshima Island around Kugenuma.

In about 2km, we reached Enoshima. We also took a rest here for a little photo shooting.

When I was a child, my grandfather lived in Fujisawa, so I used to go to Enoshima every year to swim. I have many memories of this place.

It is just about 18km near Enoshima. There is still some way to go.

You will come back to Kamakura City again with Katase Beach on your right.

The view gets all the better around here! Enoden great!

« Kamakura High School Station » is as wonderful as ever.

We passed by the Enoden and took a picture.

I crossed the last gate, Inamuragasaki, and the last 3km, and it became very hard from around here, but somehow I crossed over Yuigahama and reached Wakamiya-oji.

And we arrived at the east exit of Kamakura station at 16:00.

By this time, the sun had already set.

In the end, the distance was 26km and the running time was 3 hours and 22 minutes. Although the time loss by the photographing in front of Enoshima and Kamakura high school and the changing time on the way were long, it was the time that I wanted to run a little faster.

You have to be prepared for this kind of time loss in a real race.

If this were the Tokyo Marathon, I would be very satisfied, but I am a little worried about the Kyoto Marathon because the time limit is one hour shorter than the Tokyo Marathon.

However, I think it’s safe to say that I’ve got about the total strength to run 26km.

This is the end of my long distance runs before the show. Next week will be light, about 8km around the neighborhood, and maybe a run or two to adjust.

初朝鮮の京都マラソン、期待と不安でいっぱいです。
