We arrived at Saint-Benoît-du-Sault after driving slightly north on the highway from Mortemart and then 15 minutes on the open road.
The location is around here. Gargilesse-Dampierre » which we are going to visit next seems to be near here. (But it takes a long time because of the mountain road.
The weather is going downhill a bit.
We had a hard time finding a parking space here. Even so, it is not impossible to find because it is only a village. It is enough to park on the street.
My impression of the village was that it was not so well-maintained, but I thought it gave me a sense of the oldness and history of the village.
The churches and walls are large for the size of the village, which is probably the reason why it is chosen as a beautiful village. It is not an exaggeration to say that this is a common sight in beautiful villages.
I realized that this is a village where people are living their daily lives normally, in other words, they are still living splendidly.
There are a lot of times when I feel like I’m always taking pictures of people’s homes without their permission, and I feel bad about it, but this was one of those villages.
But it makes me smile.
Well then, let’s head to the next village. I don’t think the weather will hold… The next village is « Gargilesse-Dampierre ».
If you look at the map, the distance from here is not so far, but it seems to be a mountain road that is difficult to go…. Let’s do our best.
