Date and time of visit: May 2, 2016, approximately 5:00 p.m.
There was no museum or anything….
To the neighboring town of Saint-Jean-de-Luz
Our accommodation for the day was in San Sebastián. Just before we left for San Sebastián, we stopped at a town called Ciboure, not Saint-Jean-de-Luz, which is close to the border with Spain, but just next to it.
Saint-Jean-de-Luz is a famous holiday resort in the French Basque Country, facing the sea, and perhaps? Sibourg, just next door (less than 1km away), is also a resort.
By the way, the distant view of Saint-Jean-de-Luz is like this. Taken from the side of Ciboure.
La Maison Ravel (The House of Ravel)
But still, there is very little information. Based on the few information on the web, I managed to come here. However, there was really no landmark. I passed by it for a moment.
The white building in front of the house is Ravel’s birthplace. I parked my car near the wharf and walked to the house.
This building seemed to be an ordinary apartment now. There was barely a plaque saying that Ravel was born here.
The rest of these explanatory notes were also in a nutshell.
