Tour de France to be watched on SKY PerfecTV On Demand this year

This year is the 100th anniversary of the Tour de France and the opening three races are from Corsica. The stage is Corus, which I visited in May this year for a tour of beautiful villages.

I somehow knew that it was going to open on this island, but when I actually went there and saw these banners and

Or, if you find out that this town and road will be the course as you research various information in the area, you will feel the opening of the course even more.

Because of that, I’ve always been interested in cycling, even riding my road bike once in a while, but this year I decided to watch the opening round of the season properly, so I subscribed to SPORTS SKY PerfecTV On Demand for one month only.

Every day I’m impressed by how interesting it is to look at it carefully again.

By the way, I can watch it from my iPhone with LTE connection quite comfortably. Very nice!

Among them, the course is the road that I actually drove, and just seeing it in the video is very moving.

Due to the fact that the main roads in Corsica are quite limited, we drove most of this 3-day course during our visit in May.

The first day’s course took us along the route from Bastia, the finish line, to Porto Vecchio.

Here we stopped for lunch. Right after the start of the race, once we got to Bonifacio, the southernmost city, we headed back to the north…

I didn’t actually get to race this far at all, though.

The second day’s route from Bastia to Ajaccio, this is the first day in Corsica, we took the reverse route from the airport in Ajaccio to Bastia. This is the first day we arrived in Corsica. It was the first place where I felt that Corsica is steep.

Coastal road near Bastia, near the finish line on the first day.

It brings back even more memories of those days when not only the roads but also the gas stations where I stopped occasionally are moved.

Like the Totaru (gas station) near Ajaccio, the goal of the second day, or the vacant lot-like area at the start of the third day Actual.

Especially the first half of the course on the third day, from Ajaccio to Piana, left the most impression on me.

This bridge must be in the middle of construction, but it wasn’t finished yet (laughs).

I have to admit that when I visited Piana, the weather wasn’t great, and I was rather disappointed that there wasn’t an elevated platform overlooking the city, but

It is indeed wonderful to see the image from the sky again like this.

If I’d had more time, I’d have looked for higher ground.

I had to turn back due to time constraints, but I regret it now that I know that I could have seen the beautiful scenery much earlier. Well, I haven’t had a chance to explore Ajaccio, so I’ll have to go back to Corsica.

The road was really much steeper than I expected and I was running out of time….

このあとのステージも、美しい村巡りのときにいったことのあるところがちらほら。これからの中継がとっても楽しみです。
