Date of visit: April 22, 2011, around 11:00 a.m.
The date has changed and it is now the 22nd of April. Well, I finished my tour of the beautiful villages in Brittany about two days earlier than I had planned, and came to Bordeaux at once, so I had a lot of time to spare.
So we decided to go to a beautiful village in the Midi-Pyrenees, an area we hadn’t originally planned to visit. Our first destination was a village called Fourcès.
The map is as follows.
It’s right in the middle of the highway between Bordeaux and Toulouse, but it takes about 30 minutes more after you get off the highway. It’s a very rural road and we didn’t get lost, but to be honest, it was quite difficult to get there.
If you look at the map, there are three markers, but there are two more beautiful villages around Fourcès. « There are two more beautiful villages around Fourcès: Montreal and Larressingle.
These villages are adjacent to each other in an area with a radius of only about 10 km. In fact, I tried to visit these villages last year, but had to give up due to inconvenience.
We arrived at Fourcès, about two hours after leaving Bordeaux.
My first impression is « It’s so small. Yes, it’s a village like Dracula, to use a common expression.
Even the parking lot was in such a state.
This is my car, and there was another car parked on the right side of the road. By the way, the front is the chateau of this village.
Now let’s cross the bridge and go into the village. The village is a simple circular structure surrounded by a wall. I heard it is called « Bastide ».
It looks like an old medieval village in the photo, but in reality it’s just an ordinary country village. But in reality, it’s just an ordinary country village.
It is a very small village, but this clock tower was very big and magnificent.
The bridge over the entrance to the village and the church at the entrance.
Then we will head to the next village.
The next village is only 6km away as you can see here, just follow this road straight ahead.
