Fortunately, the area around Saint-Robert is full of small villages with a very nice atmosphere, and there is always an auberge there.
The location is in the middle of the Perigord region, and the food is expected, so we chose a village called « Hautefort », which is about 20 minutes by car from Saint Robert.

The location is around here. It is located just east of Perigueux and just north of Salla.
The Michelin map said that there was a magnificent chateau, so we headed there with excitement….
It was everything I hoped it would be!
The town is also very nice.
And at the foot of the chateau, there are several auberges.
I was afraid to go in, wondering if the restaurant was open today, but a family was having dinner. When they noticed my presence, a girl, probably their daughter, started talking to me in English.
He told me that he had a room. So we easily decided the hotel for tonight.

We were able to park our car in front of the hotel like this.
Because it was said that the supper started at 8:00 p.m., I went to the dining room after resting in the room a little.
Well, it’s a local thing, isn’t it?
This was a huge volume. Oh no.
The wine is also Bergerac wine from near the local area. Half bottles are a great help for solo drivers.
Since it was a special occasion, we had a full course to the fullest. We had fromage and dessert as well.
However, the auberge in the country, full of volume, this crassness is indescribable.
The next day, unfortunately, the weather turned out to be a light rain.
I didn’t get to explore the city much last night, so I went for a little walk before breakfast to take some pictures.
We couldn’t find a good place to take a picture of the chateau from inside the town, so we went back to the hotel for breakfast, and after checking out, we found a hill where we could see the castle and took a picture.
