Traveling trouble #1: iPhone damaged – replaced!

Before you know it, it’s already the end of May.

Well, I was able to spend this trip smoothly without any major troubles, but even so, minor troubles are bound to happen.

Here’s one of them: a broken iPhone.

« ‘At around 19:00, 20120511, while walking near Barcelona Passeig de Gracia station, he made contact with a pedestrian and dropped the iPhone in his hand.’

As I made a note of it at the site, well, I lost it due to my own trivial carelessness, but fortunately, I decided to apply for credit card insurance because it was a trouble during the trip.

Naturally, it is up to the judgment of the insurance company about this one, but I have « exchanged » it drastically because it becomes anxious to continue using iPhone as it is broken though it moves.

It seems to be possible to « repair », i.e. to fix only the damaged back side, but I chose « replace » because the volume control part was also defective.

Anyway, I thought I’d go to the Apple Store, but when I asked at the Softbank store, I was told that the phone could be replaced by an Apple Authorized Service Provider, and that the provider was located at Oazo in Marunouchi.

The store is located on the 4th floor of Maruzen in Marunouchi Oazo.

Explained the situation, went through the various procedures, and the exchange was complete in about 20 minutes!

Of course, I took the backup of just before for iMac beforehand before exchange, and was able to restore after returning home safely.

I was fine with iCloud, but I was somewhat anxious, and I backed up to Mac through traditional iTunes because I could not back up smoothly to iCloud for some reason after the trip in the first place.
