Oops, come to think of it, that was the first lesson of 2012.
I might have practiced rather a lot this week. But the basics are still messed up. I don’t know how to use my breath, which is the basic of wind instruments.
Today was a special training for that. Inhale firmly, support it with your stomach, make your embouchure with proper momentum, and keep blowing.
It’s not really stable. Maybe I should do more of this practice without an instrument.
By the way, one of my big goals for this year is to play the flute more, as I said at the beginning of this year.
I bought a collection of simple tunes to motivate myself a little. I’m thinking of having fun playing these tunes when I have time, while having my lessons teach me the basics.
It’s also good fingering practice.
