If you recall, I bought this with my winter bonus exactly 10 years ago. I bought it with the winter bonus of my first year after graduation.
It was really a joke of an opportunity.
A few months later, I was at the home of a senpai who was a member of my orchestra in college.
For some reason, my horn player at the time and my trumpet player friend attended a gathering of stringed instruments at the sempai’s parents’ house.
We were so jealous of the string ensemble that everyone was playing in that night that we
「これからはゼッタイに弦だよね！」
« Oh, well, let’s get started! »
« What about the instruments? »
« I’m sure you can get by with your bonus this winter. »
「よし、そのとき一緒に買って一緒にはじめてどっちが先にオケでデビューするか勝負だな」
and we had that conversation while we were both drinking and listening to the wonderful ensemble.
It’s been 10 years since then. In the end, I was the only one who started the orchestra, and I was the only one who started it in earnest, but such a small conversation led to the present.
