May 17, the mileage on this day was 200km + 480km + 60km + 170km + 170km = 1,080km
It may be the longest distance ever.
We visited the following four villages on this day.
Two of them were not yet registered when I started my tour of the most beautiful villages in France in 2010. The other two are villages that I visited nearby but could not visit.
Charroux, this is one of the villages we could not visit in the past.
Saint-Ceneri-le-Gerei, another village we have not been able to visit in the past.
Sainte-Suzanne, this is a newly registered village.
Moncontour, another newly registered village.
We conquered all four villages we had planned.
Especially the last one, Moncontour, is a village in Brittany. If this village had not been registered, it would not have been the longest drive so far.
I thought it would be late indeed, so I checked in at the hotel first and then headed to Moncontour. It is about 2 hours away from the hotel.
This is a place where reception and accommodation are separate buildings & parking is always available, so it’s a good place to be in the middle of the night as long as you get the key.
After all, it was 23:00 when we came back to the hotel, so it was a successful operation.
By the way, we couldn’t eat at a restaurant this day, so we had dinner at McDonald’s on the way back to the hotel from Moncontour.
So the ordering is automated here too.
You order it from a machine and they bring it to your seat.
I hope they introduce it in Japan too.
By the way, lunch is also fast food. But this is the fast food of the pasta.
I saw this shop here and there in France. It is quite delicious.
We have a long drive ahead of us tomorrow to a beautiful village that we missed.
