This day is full activity from the morning, we have visited 3 world heritage sites and 5 cities along the pilgrimage route.
Saagun is a small town located almost in the center of Carrión de los Condes and León, which we had visited earlier.
It is the base of the pilgrimage route, and there are some historical buildings, but the town is not so neat…
There are some things to see, but it’s kind of neglected and disappointing.
This gate is very fine though.
In fact, it was probably the hottest day of the year when we visited Saagun.
Spain is on summer time & west of London, so the hottest time of the day is almost 3 hours later than we imagine it to be in Japan.
