I practiced a little this week, but… I couldn’t play properly in front of the teacher.
Recently, I’ve been having a series of lessons where I’ve been carefully instructed from the very basics so that I don’t develop any strange habits. I was also instructed in detail to practice only the head pipe.
The angle and speed of the breath. This flexible switching still needs to be practiced and learned.
What I thought I should be more conscious of today is the speed of my breath. I need to reproduce the speed required for the range I want to play from the very beginning of the note. It’s easy for me to start out slow and to push the speed of my breath.
I think I need to work on my fingering a bit more.
I’m still out of practice.
