First stop in Corsica, the most beautiful village in France on this trip – 2013 France Real Time Part 3

2013 France real-time

The flight was a bit delayed, but we arrived at Ajaccio Napoleon Bonaparte Airport, the gateway to Corsica.

We will spend 3 days and 2 nights here. Our aim is to visit the two most beautiful villages in France on this island.

We immediately rented a car that was indispensable for touring the island. The car that came out was a Nissan Micra, known in Japan as a March.

I had heard that European Nissan cars were surprisingly good, but this Micra was an exception, it was really a terrible car…. The steering was too soft and had a lot of play, and the engine brake did not work at all.

I probably should have rented a slightly higher class car without being stingy.

There seemed to be few highways on the island, so I thought I would get water and food at the airport, but there were no shops at all…. It was easy to get food, but there was no water, so I got Coke from a vending machine.

Then I got a map, even though I have Google Map, I thought I need it.

As I prepared in advance, this time was simple. The setting was completed in the shortest time ever.

The road in Corsica is quite steep. So I had a terrible hard time because of this raggedy car. I couldn’t drive fast at all, not even at the legal speed. I was overtaken by the following cars one after another. We finally arrived at the most beautiful village « San Tantonino ».

Even in Ombolo Guruma, it was still very nice to drive while looking at the sea.

The communication lines are good almost all over the country, which is a relief at least.

And we decided to take a hotel in Bastia, a port town in the north of the country.

Our dinner at Bastia was so good!

Well, it’s sunny and cloudless in Bastia today!

Now it’s time to leave.
